After Système U and Leclerc, Carrefour is trying its hand at in-store customisation with corners totally dedicated to object customisation. To date Carrefour has developed 40 Shop In Shop corners in its shops with My Design.
These "fablabs" (production units that bring together several small machines) allow consumers to take their creations away immediately.
Indeed, customers can personalise everyday objects in 3 universes = decorationon ready-made clothes and accessories in less than 5 minutes !
My Design and Carrefour want to go further by offering printable books. The dimension could also be present by integrating the name of the person for example.
L'objective for shops = to differentiate themselves from competitors with a non-food offer, especially in decoration. This market has shifted to the internet, whereas with a better offer and service than online, the shops can win back consumers.
Currently, there are 200 items ranging from €3 to over €100 customizable. The average basket is 20€.
But this new adventure has only just begun!
