For this 23rd European Week for the Employment of People with Disabilities, SIG is reaffirming its commitment in this area. This article is an opportunity to communicate some key figures in France and to recall SIG's approach in favour of inclusion, an approach that is rich in lessons learned.
Employment figures for people with disabilities (France - June 2019)
The subject of disability at SIG: a historical societal commitment
Because the employment of disabled workers is a social issue, SIG has always wanted to go beyond simply meeting its legal obligations. By creating the conditions for a real change in the way disability is viewed, the company is able to integrate these deserving workers into its driving forces for success and societal performance. Our corporate culture is naturally imbued with consideration and respect for individual differences, as SIG is made up of employees from all walks of life: multi-employer, multi-convention (merchandising, sales animation, service providers)... The differences that make up our company can be a source of wealth, it is up to us to preserve them! More particularly for our employees with disabled worker status, our social responsibility consists of valuing differences and fighting prejudice.
SIG's work on disability
In order to give concrete expression to its commitments in the area of disability, the company is implementing a policy of inclusion of people with disabilities, which involves mobilisation at all levels:
- The HR Disability Correspondent carries out a personalised follow-up: a real privileged contact, he is the coordinator of the various actions carried out;
- The Disability Advisor: appointed on a voluntary basis from among all employees, he or she is responsible for guiding, informing and supporting people with disabilities;
- The human resources department monitors employment and working conditions: access to employment is provided by our partner CAP EMPLOI, which advertises our job offers; the more frequent medical check-ups enable us to check the professional environment and adapt it as necessary (purchase of specific equipment, taking account of disabilities in the performance of the mission, etc.);
- The regional managers ensure that jobs are maintained: every week, the preparation of staff assignments takes into account the availability of employees with disabilities as a priority;
- Managers ensure that the skills of all employees are maintained and developed through regular training;
Benevolence is our watchword at SIG
