According to a 1st survey, here are some figures on consumer trends for christmas 2015 =
- each child will receive an average of 2 to 3 gifts from their parents
- 1 in 2 parents will spend €50 to €100 per child on Christmas
- 1 in 3 parents plan to spend €100 or more per child
- Nearly 6 out of 10 parents still buy in shops
- 1 in 2 parents are thinking of buying at least 1 construction set
Derivatives of big screen heroes are on everyone's mind. Licences account for 22.7% of toy sales (with 6% growth since January 2015)
Starting with Star Wars with the release of episode VII on 16/12. The assets of this license = being transgenerational (and yes it pleases the adults as well as the children), known characters (the famous Darth Vader, Chewbacca, ...). More than 418 references are already on sale. Lego (historical partner of Star Wars) has already realized 80% of these sales on the license since the beginning of the year). But The Snow Queen remains the most important licence for generating turnover

- Connected games and toys (favoured by 48% of parents) = activity watch, on-board camera, mini smartphone, drone, etc.

Market professionals are optimistic and predict a 1% market growth this year (this would amount to about 3.3 billion euros) and 2% only on Christmas sales.
