Celebrating International Women's Rights Day
This 8 March is International Women's Rights Day. This is an opportunity for Service Innovation Group to remind us of its commitment to professional equality. Reducing inequalities between women and men is a major concern for us, as evidenced by the very good score of 99/100 obtained for our The latest index of professional equality published on 1 March 2022.
International Women's Rights Day is not Women's Day...
This day is the occasion for demonstrations throughout the world. It's not about giving them roses (although that is a nice touch!). Sometimes wrongly called "Women's Day", this day highlights gender inequalities, denounces everyday sexism and celebrates feminist struggles. Its main objectives are to fight against discrimination, inequality and violence experienced by women. Far from being a commercial event, International Women's Rights Day has become a key date in the international calendar. It is a time for reflection, action and the search for solutions to improve the condition of every woman, while highlighting the progress made.
The UN's 2022 theme for the day
The United Nations sets a different theme each year. This year's theme is "Equality Today for a Sustainable Future. This topic highlights the contribution of women and girls around the world who are leading the charge on climate change adaptation, response and mitigation. Simply put, the goal is to advance gender equality in the context of the climate crisis.
