MY TRAIL
I have an atypical background.
After a master's degree in English, I was bookseller. I have therefore acquired good commercial experience.
After 10 years in business, I wanted to discover something else. I applied for individual training leave to follow a course of study. training as a multimedia designer. This allowed me to bounce back and then work in book publishing.
After five years, I again wanted to develop and get involved in the organisation of the company. After careful consideration of my skills and desires, I decided to move into Human Resources. In 2016, I followed a training course in Human Resources Management (equivalent to BAC +4).
The internship I am doing today at SIG is the final stage of this training course.
It will allow me to apply the theory I acquired during my training in the field.
MY MISSION AT SIG
My mission at SIG is to set up the Professional Interviews under the responsibility of Sébastien de VILLE who is Human Resources Manager.
The professional interview is quite distinct from the annual assessment interview. It is an opportunity for the employee and the company to take stock of their career and skills, and to lay the foundations for defining a professional project.
WHAT I LIKED ABOUT SIG
When I saw the advert at SIG, two things appealed to me =
- The 1eraThe first step was to apply online by sending my CV only. The next step was to register two delayed videos on the recruitment area of the website to explain my motivation to join the company. I had never recorded a video before and this challenge was much more interesting than writing a standard cover letter. SIG has a recruitment process that is different from what is usually done from the outset, and it's at the heart of the company's philosophy.of the company's dynamism.
- The second thing I liked was the activity: the sales, the sales, the animation, the shelves... It's a world I know - in the world of books - and it allows me to have some reference points.
MY FIRST IMPRESSIONS
The welcome at SIG is warm. The 1er Contact was made with Julie Tache who is a Payroll and Human Resources Manager. She was the one I spoke to on the phone to invite me to my recruitment interview.
I was then in direct contact with Sébastien de VILLE during a recruitment interview.
This first impression was confirmed when I arrived 10 days ago. I was welcomed by the HR team, given a desk and a computer, given a tour of the offices, and given an explanation of how the company works. I was even able to park my car in the car park!
This seems to be common sense, the minimum required, but these conditions are far from being met in all companies and that's why I want to say it: thank you all for your welcome, the smiles, the words of welcome.
I was also able to go on my first shop tour to see, on the ground, the reality of the work of our temporary workers, in my first week at SIG. It was very interesting and it was good to be able to do it so quickly.
A WORD FROM THE "HRM", Sébastien DE VILLE
Professional interviews are a strategic subject for SIG employees. In fact, beyond the law, which provides for the implementation of these interviews, we have a real desire to deepen skills management within the company. Internal mobility is clearly a strong point at SIG.
These interviews will enable all employees with permanent contracts and temporary employees with two years' seniority to express their views on their career path (before and at SIG) and on their career aspirations.
Barbara's recruitment is in line with this, we wanted to recruit a candidate who was both a personality and had real HR skills. She also has professional experience in commerce, which is the heart of our business. She has gone through training and professional retraining for herself. She can therefore better understand and assist employees in this type of process. This is a key element in professional interviews.
Over the next few months, we will be working on a complete implementation of these professional interviews, which we will call at SIG "HR Interviews. The law does not require us to follow any particular formalism, so we are going to use the same procedure. To create tools and communication adapted to the different professions of our employees.
